The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) is warning the public to be aware of a recruitment scam bearing its name.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the EOJ said it is aware that individuals have been receiving phone calls from persons impersonating its staff members.

"These callers falsely claim that individuals have been selected to work in elections, or inquire about their interest, then send a link for persons to share personal information," the EOJ stated.

It added that, "This is false and may be a scam", as the office does not conduct recruiting in this way.

On that score, the EOJ is urging citizens to not engage with such callers, click on any links, or share personal information.

For accurate information, persons may contact the EOJ directly at 876-922-0425, or WhatsApp 1-658-207-6742.
