The murder case against a man who was once listed as one of St Catherine's most wanted, Glendon Amos, alias 'Bull', failed to get off the ground due to his absence from the St Catherine Parish Court last week.
When the case was mentioned on Wednesday, police officers advised the court that Amos' absence was due to the accused being scheduled to face an identification parade.
Additionally, he is being probed for other criminal offences.
Consequently, the judge ordered a new mention date to be set for March 7, 2025.
Amos was listed among the top 10 most wanted figures by the Joint Anti-Gang Task Force (JAGTF) - National Assault on Gangs initiative, and was also featured on the Jamaica Constabulary Force's (JCF) Wanted Wednesdays social media platform for murder.
He was wanted in connection to the December 18, 2022 murder of Shawn Paul, also known as 'Challa', in Bueno Vista, Commodore district, Linstead, St Catherine.
Amos was nabbed on January 29 of this year by the JAGTF, which was supported by the St Catherine North police and Specialised Operations.
During the operation to arrest him last month, Amos reportedly attempted to evade capture by providing a false name, identifying himself as Glen Williams, when he was intercepted in Moneague, St Ann.
Another passenger in the vehicle in which he was travelling was also detained.
Amos was subsequently charged with Paul's murder, but his legal woes have mounted, as the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) announced on Saturday that Amos has also been charged with three counts of shooting with intent. Those charges are relative to, among other allegations, that Amos opened gunfire at a police team during an operation in Commodore district in Linstead, St Catherine on Saturday, September 9, 2023, after which he fled the scene.
