A 33-year-old farmer of Ridge, White Hall, St Thomas has been charged with possession of prohibited weapon following an incident in his community on Tuesday, October 29.

Reports from the Morant Bay police are that at about 9:30 pm, members of a police team on patrol saw Jermaine Davis, standing on the roadway.

Allegations are that upon seeing the police, Davis pulled a black object from his possession and threw it on the ground.

He was accosted and the object reportedly retrieved. Further inspection of the object proved to be an imitation firearm.

Davis was arrested and later charged. His court date is being arranged.
