The Government says it is on track to make the first payments under the Shelter Recovery Programme (SRP) this week.
The SRP, which was launched on January 15, aims to provide reconstruction and rehabilitation support for households impacted by Hurricane Melissa which battered the country last October.
The Social Security Ministry noted that those households in the minor, major and severe damage categories will be targeted with cash grants to assist with repairs or rebuilding.
In an update during a post-Cabinet briefing at Jamaica House this morning, Information Minister Dr. Dana Morris Dixon said payouts will be made as promised.
