Gov’t actively pursuing over US$300M in international grant funding to support several climate-resilient projects

The Government is actively pursuing over US$300 million in international grant funding to support several climate-resilient projects that are at varying stages of development.
Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Matthew Samuda made the disclosure at a press briefing, yesterday.
During the briefing, the Minister also announced that the Green Climate Fund approved a US$50 million project promoting climate resilient agriculture in Jamaica.
Mr. Samuda said Jamaica continues to seek more funding.
He highlighted the importance of climate-resilient projects, noting that no sector is immune to climate change.
