Gov’t says it remains committed to safe, resilient education system that protects all students
The Education Ministry has sought to assure that it remains steadfast in its commitment to maintain a safe and resilient education system that protects all students.
The assurance follows the emergence of a video, showing students in school uniform physically assaulting another.
The pupils appear to be from a prominent high school in the Corporate Area.
The video, which has now gone viral, has rehashed public concern about safety in schools.
It has also prompted a condemnation and an investigation from the Ministry.
The Ministry is also deploying specialized teams to the school involved to meet with administration and students, as part of the ongoing investigation.
Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry, Senator Marlon Morgan said the Ministry is working diligently with the leadership of the school to identify all parties involved to ensure appropriate disciplinary and corrective measures are implemented.
Senator Morgan also noted that he will be visiting the school with Ministry representatives.
