The Government is moving to place greater focus on family-centered policies, as part of its strategy to strengthen social stability in Jamaica.

Prime Minister, Dr. Andrew Holness said, his administration is developing a more coordinated and concentrated approach, targeting and supporting Jamaican families.

He noted, that this represents the next major phase of government policy.

Dr. Holness also pointed out, that strong families are essential to building a strong and sustainable economy

In the meantime, Member of Parliament for St. Catherine southern, Fitz Jackson, who delivered remarks on behalf of Opposition Leader Mark Golding, also echoed the call for strengthening families as a foundation for building a strong society.

He emphasized the need to rebuild shared values, pointing particularly to the importance of Christian principles in guiding family life and national development.

They were speaking at the 20th gathering of heal the family, heal the nation day of prayer service yesterday.
