Prime Minister Andrew Holness has launched a scathing attack on the Opposition People's National Party (PNP), accusing the party of harbouring "bad mind" towards the Jamaica Labour Party's (JLP) achievements in Government.

Holness, who has been at odds with the PNP over various issues, including his financial integrity, claimed that the Opposition's animosity towards him extends to his personal life, citing their criticism of the house he built in Beverly Hills, St Andrew some years ago.

"Remember enuh, dem did bad mind me 'bout my house! And when yuh gimmi di chance, mi seh, 'You know what, mi ago mek sure say every Jamaican have a good house fi live inna!'" declared Holness during his address at what appeared to be a recent JLP meeting, which he posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.

In the run-up to the 2016 elections, then Opposition Leader Holness was forced to provide details on the funding of his multi-million-dollar house, this after it became part of the campaigning by PNP supporters.

The fired-up JLP leader, in the video posted on Friday, said the Government has been "fulfilling social consciousness and social conscience of the people of Jamaica, who say everybody should have a good house fi live inna."

Due to what he said was his Government's ability to administer the affairs of the country effectively, Holness said the promise of housing for Jamaicans is being delivered.

"As I stand here today, I tell all of you who are gathered..., put that pon YouTube and TikTok, that under my Administration, every Jamaican will have decent shelter to live in; that is not a promise, that is a commitment," he said to cheering labourites.

The prime minister said it is not impossible for every Jamaican household to have decent shelter, and for every road in the country to have decent driving surface.

He elaborated that, "It's not impossible for every home in Jamaica that is within a certain distance from established water sources to have water in their homes, and it's not impossible for there to be no murders in Jamaica... It is not impossible.

"We need to stop not just with the bad mind, but we need to stop with the small mind," he urged.

Turning back to his criticisms of the PNP, he said they have been "bad mind" towards the JLP for "doing the things that you have always wanted a Government to do".

He claimed that when the parliamentary Opposition had their time in office, they did not do what they were supposed to do to improve the country.

"As soon as we (the JLP) start to do it, they try to turn good into bad. They are a bad mind set of people!" Holness insisted.
