A multi-agency investigation is underway to determine the cause of a fire which engulfed a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC ) bus in Kingston this morning.
The JUTC says the incident took place at around 6:20 a.m. in the vicinity of Lady Musgrave Road.
There was no report of injury.
According to preliminary reports, the bus operator observed flames coming from the engine compartment while operating the unit.
JUTC’s Corporate Communications Manager, Shantole Thompson said the Jamaica Fire Brigade was alerted and the fire was extinguished.
She said the matter is under investigation by the police, the Fire Brigade and JUTC’s Accident Department.
