Lobby group Jamaica Beach Birthright Environmental Movement (JABBEM) continued its demand for citizens to have beach access rights, staging another protest today.
Some placard bearing members of the group gathered at Mammee Bay in St. Ann to call attention to the governments beach access management policy which they described as a continuation of colonialist restrictions.
The Mammee Bay area was chosen as it is the site of contention, following the building of a wall by developers, restricting resident and fisher folk access to the beach.
JABBEM President Dr. Devon Taylor said the protesters action today is indicative of their stance of saying no to qualified rights.
