Jamaica’s coffee industry is getting a much-needed boost, as the Jamaica Agricultural Commodities Regulatory Authority (JACRA) steps up efforts to restore farms battered by drought and bush fires.
More than 200 coffee seedlings have been planted at the Winefield Property, in Higgin Town, St. Ann, owned by veteran farmer Kenneth Black.
The intervention also includes pruning and rehabilitating damaged trees to restore growth and production.
JACRA says the Farm Recovery Programme will continue across the Blue Mountain and High Mountain coffee-producing regions, as farmers call for urgent support.
