Jamaicans taking measures to manage cooler temperatures associated with strong cold front impacting the island
As a strong cold front continues to impact sections of the island, several Jamaicans have been bundling up to manage the cooler temperature and strong winds.
According to the Met Office, residents should also expect potentially gale force gusts and cloudy conditions to persist across Jamaica through to Tuesday, especially across northern parishes and hilly areas.
When IRIE FM News reached out to citizens, many had mixed reactions to the weather event.
One man said while cooler temperatures are welcomed, this experience may deter him from visiting the United States.
The U.S. is currently experiencing record low temperatures in several areas.
Meanwhile, one woman explained that she has been wearing extra pieces of clothing to combat the cold.
She added that she expects the weather to impact her sinuses.
The Health and Wellness Ministry has warned citizens to limit outdoor activity, as best as possible, and to exercise caution when conducting repairs or clearing debris.
