Jamaicans to brace for unstable weather tonight and tomorrow, due to Trough and Low-Level Jet Stream
Fishers and other marine interests, especially those along the south coast – both inshore and offshore – are urged to exercise caution as sea conditions are expected to deteriorate in the vicinity of showers, thunderstorms and strong winds.
This is due to a low-level jet stream building across the Central Caribbean, which is expected to bring gusty winds to the island, particularly affecting southern parishes today through to tomorrow.
Meanwhile, a trough is forecast to move into the Western Caribbean today and linger through tomorrow, bringing unstable weather conditions to Jamaica beginning tonight.
Periods of showers and thunderstorms, which may be heavy at times, are expected to primarily affect eastern and south-central parishes from tonight into tomorrow morning.
The activity will spread to the remaining parishes by late tomorrow morning, continuing into the afternoon and evening.
