A Jamaican man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the Cayman Islands on Boxing Day, Thursday, December 26.
He has been identified as 26 year-old Romario Jacquet of Rockfort in East Kingston. He was the driver of the ill-fated Subaru sedan that was involved in the early morning collision according to the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC).
The crash left three people hospitalised with serious injuries.
In commenting on the incident, Police Commissioner Kurt Walton noted that instead of enjoying the rest of the festive season, a family is now dealing with the grief of this tragic loss.
He said the fatal collision follows another serious crash hours earlier, in which three people were injured.
The latest road death brings the toll in the Cayman Islands for 2024 to 13 people, three of which have happened in December.
