The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) has strongly condemned an act of vandalism, involving several transformers, that were scheduled for installation, to support electricity restoration works, in Westmoreland.
According to the company, as part of preparatory work, the transformers were left at a church property in the parish on Monday February 2, to begin restoration work yesterday.
JPS’ Corporate Communications Officer, Darian Reid, said when the teams returned to begin installation, they discovered that the units had been disassembled.
He noted, that the action has slowed the restoration process for customers.
