Kingston College probes viral video of student falling from staircase rail

The management of Kingston College (KC) says it is conducting a thorough probe into the circumstances that led to a recent incident, which was captured on video and has gone viral.

The video shows a young KC student hanging over the rail of a staircase. It appears he was being held by other students, while a third recorded the incident.

The boys appeared to release their hold, causing the student to fall.

The situation has raised widespread public concern about students’ safety.

In a statement dated September 23, the school said no student was hurt in the incident.

The school also sought to assure the public that the matter is being taken seriously and will be dealt with appropriately in accordance with the institution’s established policies and procedures.

The school also urged persons to refrain from sharing the video, as doing so may unnecessarily compromise the privacy, dignity and welfare of the young students involved.
