Labourer charged with escaping custody, assault

Oshane Scott, who escaped police custody in St Mary on Friday, November 29, has been slapped with additional charges following his recapture.

Scott, 33, who is otherwise called ‘Chin Chin’, a labourer of Manchester Lane in Port Maria, has been charged with Escaping Custody and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.

Reports from the Port Maria Police are that at about 9:05 a.m., Scott, who was attending court, requested to use the restroom. He was then escorted by a police officer, however, while returning, Scott allegedly physically assaulted the policewoman and then escaped. The policewoman was thereafter transported to the hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.

On Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at about 8:04 pm, a targeted raid was carried out at Frontier district in Port Maria, St Mary, where Scott was found walking along the roadway; he was taken into custody once more.

Scott was attending court to answer to the charges of Attempted Rape, Assault at Common Law and Unlawful Wounding when he escaped.
