Education Minister, Dr. Dana Morris-Dixon says the laptop programme is being expanded to primary schools as part of efforts to foster digital literacy from an early age.
The move, she explains comes as the Tablets in Schools initiative remains separate, since tablets cannot support some of the programmes being introduced at the primary level.
According to the Minister, the rollout will ensure that students develop essential digital skills as they begin their formal education.
Addressing the broader initiative, Dr. Morris-Dixon highlights that the existing computer labs and audiovisual resources in schools are key components of a wider strategy to strengthen digital learning and enhance students’ technological proficiency.
