Local Government Minister Desmond Mckenzie warns against use of Parish Development Committees and community-based organizations for political purpose

Local Government Minister Desmond Mckenzie has issued a stern warning to persons who wish to use Parish Development Committees (PDCs) and Community-Based Organizations for political purposes.

The reprimand came during the Kingston and St. Andrew Governance Conference, held at the Jamaica Conference Centre in Kingston Wednesday.

Mr. Mckenzie noted that in several cases politics reduced the effectiveness of Community-Based Organizations.

He said this will not be tolerated.
