Sleuths attached to the St Andrew North Policing Division seized one .38 Taurus revolver, eight .38 and one .56 round of ammunition on Seivwright drive, Kingston 11, on Wednesday, October 16.
Reports from the lawmen are that at about 4:00 p.m., while on patrol in the area they saw man acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion.
Upon seeing the police, the man ran and the police gave chase. He was intercepted, and a bag was taken from him and searched in his presence. The firearm and ammunition was found inside.
The man was subsequently arrested and questioned. His identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
