
The Trelawny Police Division has recorded the first murder since the start of the year, this after a man was fatally stabbed by an attacker who is reportedly of unsound mind, in the Hague Settlement community on Friday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as 56-year-old construction worker Leroy McIntosh of a Martha Brae, Trelawny address.
Preliminary reports are that sometime after noon, McIntosh and three others in a group at Hague Settlement were pounced upon and stabbed by the attacker who was armed with a knife.
Loop News has been informed that they were all rushed to hospital, where McIntosh was pronounced dead.
The conditions of the other injured persons are not now known.
The suspect, who was subsequently beaten by a mob, has been admitted to hospital.
The Falmouth police are investigating the developments.
