Man of ‘unsound mind’ shot dead at funeral in St Catherine

The Guanaboa Vale police have launched an  investigations surrounding the fatal shooting of man, beleived to be of unsound mind, at a funeral in St Catherine.

The deceased has been identified as Isaac Foster, 23-year-old labourer of Pennypiece District, Kitson Town St Catherine.

The incident occured on Monday, December 30 at about 2:15 pm at Dovecot Cemetry.

Information is that a burial was in progress  when Foster tried to disrupt the proceedings. 

It is alleged that the now deceased used a piece of concrete block to hit one of the mourners on the head and rip the body from the casket. 

Foster was accused of throwing stones at the mourners to include a licensed firearm holder.

Reports are that Foster was shot when he tried to advance towards the firearm holder. 

 Foster was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
