A male motorist is battling for his life after he was shot several times by gunmen travelling on motorcycles, at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Molynes Road.
Reports are that the motorist was driving a grey Toyota Probox along Molynes Road when he was attacked by the armed thugs as he reached at the intersection of the two major roads.
Sounds of gunfire sent members of the public, who were in the area, scampering for cover.
When the criminals left the area the male motorist was seen slumped around the steering.
Several bullet wounds were seen in his vehicle.
The vehicle of another female was also damaged by stray bullets.
It is not clear if the female was also injured.
A motive for the shooting has not been established at this time.
Investigators attached to the St Andrew South police division have launched an investigation into the matter.
