Written byMarkelia Rumble

Vice-Chairman of the National Road Safety Council (NRSC), Dr. Lucien Jones is again urging motorists to slow down and exercise greater caution on the nation’s roads, as speeding continues to be a major concern.

Dr. Jones’ call comes as 12 people have died in road crashes in the first 11 days of August.

Three people were killed in crashes yesterday: one in Clarendon and two in St. Ann.

The latest fatalities have pushed the tally since the start of the year to 199.

Dr. Jones is calling for greater enforcement of safe speeds including the implementation of measures to help curb speeding.
