Ocho Rios High student charged with murder in relation to death of schoolmate Devonie Shearer

A student of the Ocho Rios High School in St. Ann has been charged in relation to the death of his schoolmate Devonie Shearer last week.

The identity of the accused has not been released as he is a minor.

Reports are that the 17-year-old boy and Devonie had a dispute in Ocho Rios town on Tuesday.

A day later, Devonie was attacked with a metal chair while standing in a classroom.

He sustained serious injuries and died at hospital.

Police say the attacker was charged with murder last Thursday.
