Opposition Spokesman on Labour Wavell Hinds says security guards should be classified as essential workers

Opposition Spokesman on Labour, Wavell Hinds has argued that security guards should be classified as essential workers.
He pointed to the work that they do in securing schools, banks and other industries.
He lamented that security guards are oftentimes not fairly compensated for their work.
He made the assessment while calling for reforms to the security industry during his Sectoral Debate in Parliament yesterday.
Mr. Hinds wants security guards to benefit from pension and insurance coverage.
