PM Holness stresses need for NIDS to enable greater efficiency in both private and public sector

Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness has stressed the need for a National Identification System (NIDS) to enable greater efficiency in both the private and public sector.
He was speaking at the Jamaica Labour Party Generation 2000 Policy Forum at the University of the West Indies.
Dr Holness pointed out that identity is critical to bureaucratic efficiency.
The prime minister underscored the tedious process of having to re-establish one’s identity when carrying out transaction at Government agencies.
He expressed that concerns of the system have been dealt with and confirmed that the implementation phase will start next.
