In a news release, the PNP commemorated Neita-Robertson's passion for politics and her steadfast adherence to the founding principles of the party, which guided her distinguished career in public service.
“Neita-Robinson political journey commenced in 1986, when, at the request of the late Michael Manley, she became the Councillor for the Papine Division in the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC), representing the East St Andrew constituency.
In 2019, Neita-Robertson further demonstrated her dedication by embracing the role of Member of Parliament Caretaker for West Portland. Beyond her political career, she was a formidable presence in the legal community, known for her strong advocacy and commitment to justice,” the PNP statement said.
The PNP highlighted her substantial contributions as a campaign manager for several candidates, including Damion Crawford in East Rural St Andrew, which showcased her strategic skills and unyielding dedication to the party's objectives.

Opposition Spokesperson on Justice Senator Donna Scott-Mottley noted, “Valerie Neita-Robertson was a formidable legal mind and an unwavering champion of justice. Her sharp intellect, fearless advocacy, and deep commitment to the rule of law made her one of Jamaica’s most respected attorneys. Her contributions to the legal profession and the pursuit of justice will not be forgotten."
Chairman of the PNP, Dr Angela Brown Burke, lamented, “As we mourn the loss of a remarkable woman, we honour her memory and extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones. We remain committed to upholding the values and principles that Comrade Valerie championed throughout her life."
