In response to the devastating fire that recently swept through sections of the Lucea Market, the People’s National Party (PNP) caretaker for the Hanover Western constituency, Heatha Miller-Bennett is expressing her deep concern for those affected, noting that many suffered significant losses.

"I am heartbroken by the destruction that has befallen our beloved Lucea Market," Miller-Bennett stated. "The vendors who work tirelessly to support their families have suffered immense losses, and my thoughts are with them during this difficult time."

The community, Miller-Bennett said in her response is already feeling the impact of this disaster. She while reassured residents of her commitment to aid recovery efforts. "We will do everything in our power to support our vendors and help them rebuild their lives," she emphasised. "I urge all stakeholders to come together and provide the necessary assistance to those in need."

Additionally, Miller-Bennett extended her wishes for a swift recovery to the brave firefighter injured while battling the blaze.

"Your courage and dedication to protecting our community do not go unnoticed. We are grateful for your service," she remarked.

Miller-Bennett offered her heartfelt condolences to the vendors, families, and communities impacted by this tragic event. "I call upon the authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice swiftly, ensuring that our community can heal and rebuild."
