Police Sergeant Patrick Mahoney
The High Command of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has condemned the killing of a police sergeant in Portmore, St Catherine.
In a release on Monday, the high command said the force is mourning the loss of Sergeant Patrick Mahoney, who was shot and injured at his gate in Bridgeport, Portmore on Thursday, November 7, and succumbed to his injuries on Monday, November 11.
Police Commissioner, Dr Kevin Blake, has expressing condolences on behalf of the high command to the family, friends and colleagues of the slain policeman, who was assigned to the St Catherine North Police Division.
When their demands were not met, the men opened gunfire at the lawman before escaping in the area.
The injured policeman was assisted to the hospital, where he was being treated until Monday, when he succumbed to his injuries.
The release said the JCF’s Chaplaincy Branch and Welfare Department are providing support to the family members, friends and colleagues of Sergeant Mahoney.
