The police have confirmed that a man was electrocuted while carrying out duties in a bar at an event at Mas Camp on Saturday night.

The police noted that investigations are ongoing into the specific circumstances surrounding the incident.

Meanwhile, in an official statement on social media, Scream Halloween Festival emphasised that all necessary checks and inspections were conducted by the relevant authorities prior to the event to ensure that the environment was safe for all staff members to carry out their duties.

This as the entity confirmed that a member of the bar staff had to be rushed to hospital after collapsing while undertaking his duties during the event at Mas Camp.

Scream outlined that after being alerted to the incident, paramedics responded immediately and attended to the individual.

It said despite the efforts made, he later passed away.

In the meantime, Scream noted that it has met with the family of the deceased, his employer and security personnel as part of efforts to provide support and address the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

It also highlighted that an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway by the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

Scream said it is cooperating fully with the police and remains committed to supporting the investigative process to ensure it proceeds as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Scream said it understands that emotions are heightened and that there is considerable speculation surrounding the incident, but asked that the relevant authorities be afforded the time and space necessary to conduct their investigations and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
