The St Mary police are appealing to the public for assistance in their efforts to identify a pregnant woman whose body was found along the Devon Pen main road in the parish on Sunday.

The deceased is of dark complexion, slim build, and appeared to be in her mid to late twenties.

She was approximately six months pregnant at the time of her death, according to a police statement.

Notable tattoos on her body included ‘JvsC’ and ‘Labeeb’, as well as a cross on her chest.

At the time of the discovery, the body was clad in a white T-shirt, blue underwear and black socks.

The discovery was made about 4pm on Sunday.

The body had several marks of violence, including signs of strangulation and multiple abrasions. Blood was also observed on clothing that were reportedly used to wrap the body.

Anyone with information that can assist the police in identifying the victim is urged to call the Port Maria police at 876-994-4222, Crime Stop at 311, or police emergency number at 119.
