After 25 years on Negril’s sandy shores, the Reggae Marathon is set to make a historic move to Kingston, bringing its iconic blend of fitness and festivity to Jamaica’s bustling capital.

The silver anniversary event will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, along the city’s scenic waterfront.

The milestone edition will feature the traditional half marathon, 10K, and 5K races, maintaining the event's hallmark of exceptional organisation, lively music, and vibrant atmosphere, now infused with Kingston’s urban energy.

Race director Alfred ‘Frano’ Francis said the shift reflects a celebration of the event’s 25-year journey and its vision for the future.

“This is a celebration of our journey over 25 years, and Kingston is the perfect stage for our next chapter,” Francis said. “The waterfront route will inspire participants with its scenic beauty and cultural landmarks.”

Key traditions, such as the pre-race Pasta Party and post-race festivities, will move to the capital, offering fresh ways for participants and spectators to engage.

In Kingston, participants can look forward to a fast, flat course that winds past some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, all set to the vibrant backdrop of reggae music and the city’s signature warm hospitality

“Kingston is the heartbeat of Jamaica, and this move reflects the vibrancy and innovation we want to share with the world,” said Francis. “The Reggae Marathon’s silver anniversary is the perfect opportunity to showcase the capital in a whole new light.”
