United States-bred two-year-old, RIDEALLDAY, an impressive winner when debuting at five and a half furlongs on Mouttet Mile Day at Caymanas Park, faces fellow American, UNSPUN in Saturday’s Dye Job Sprint, Race 4, Series 3, of the BGLC-TOBA Millionaires Series.
The fancied pair are among four two-year-old foreigners in the five-horse field eligible for a $1 million BGLC-TOBA bonus in addition to the winner’s purse of $1.128 million.
MISS CONTENT, sold by the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association of Jamaica as one of 10 Canadian fillies purchased under the Jamaica Racing Commission’s Thoroughbred Stimulus Fund, automatically qualifies for the $1 million bonus.
However, RIDEALLDAY, UNSPUN and UNRULY MO were made eligible via the $150,000 eligibility route that has, so far, handsomely rewarded six Millionaires Series winners with $9 million in BGLC-TOBA bonuses in addition to winners’ purses.
RIDEALLDAY (Vekoma-Song of Hours) will be partnered by Raddesh Roman, who starts the afternoon three winners clear of Tevin Foster in their last-day battle for the jockeys’ title.
The roan colt won in an eye-catching 1:06.1 for five and a half furlongs on a relatively good track on debut. With the surface running fast for the last two meets, RIDEALLDAY is set to put the field to the sword.
However, UNSPUN’s connections not only hope to topple favourite RIDEALLDAY but are aiming to have their runner become the first $3 million earner in BGLC-TOBA bonuses after landing the November 30 Mr Sensational, which had a $2 million carryover.
Christopher Mamdeen is eyeing a hat-trick of wins aboard UNSPUN, who clocked 1:27.0 in the Mr Sensational, beating Thursday’s Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes winner, BURNING HEDGE, by almost nine lengths.
The BGLC-TOBA Dye Job Millionaires Series event is the seventh of nine races scheduled. First post is noon.
