West Indies middle-order batsman Sherfane Rutherford of Guyana has been named in ESPNCricinfo’s ODI Team of the Year, recognised for his outstanding performance in 2024.
Rutherford, also a nominee for the ICC Male ODI Player of the Year, amassed 425 runs in seven innings at an average of 106.25. His tally includes a match-winning century against Bangladesh and four half-centuries.
Meanwhile, West Indies Women’s captain Hayley Matthews secured a spot in the Women’s T20 Team of the Year.
The Barbadian topped the format’s run-scoring charts in 2024, accumulating 1,387 runs in 48 innings at an average of 33.82, with 12 half-centuries. She also excelled with the ball, claiming 57 wickets at an average of 19.5 and an economy rate of 6.8.
