S Hotel in Montego Bay, St. James has been ranked second overall in the Atlantic, Caribbean and Central America in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards.

With the number-one property located in Costa Rica, S Hotel Montego Bay is the highest-ranked Caribbean hotel in the category.

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett has welcomed the latest recognition, describing it as another major endorsement of Jamaica’s tourism product and the quality of the country’s hospitality workers.

Mr. Bartlett says the recognition is particularly significant following Hurricane Melissa, which severely affected sections of western Jamaica. He noted that S Hotel was full when the hurricane struck, but its team continued serving guests under extremely difficult circumstances.

Earlier this year, S Hotel was named #1 Best All-Inclusive Caribbean Resort in the 2026 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

In 2025, S Hotel was ranked #1 All-Inclusive in Jamaica, #2 in the Caribbean and #11 worldwide in Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards.

It was also ranked #5 Hotel in the Caribbean and Central America in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards and named Jamaica’s Leading Hotel at the World Travel Awards for the fourth consecutive year.

S Hotel was additionally named Jamaica’s Best MICE Hotel at the 2025 World MICE Awards and received the Condé Nast Johansens Award for Excellence for Best Hotel for Romance in North, Central and South America.

Bartlett also praised S Hotel’s contribution to the post-hurricane recovery effort. Through its ‘S for Shelters’ programme, staff and guests helped construct 63 one-room shelters for families affected by Hurricane Melissa.

S Hotel General Manager Anne Marie Goffe-Pryce says the latest recognition is a tribute to the hotel’s employees and their commitment to delivering an outstanding Jamaican guest experience.
