Sandals Resorts International (SRI), owned by the Stewart family, is set to offer steep discounts of up to 65 per cent during the typically busy holiday amid a double-digit decline in the regional travel market.
According to a company release, travellers booking at any of Sandals' adults-only resorts across the Caribbean will benefit from up to 65 per cent off their stay, as well as vacation credits of up to US$1,500. Additional perks include airline credits of up to US$500 and one free night at select properties.

The promotional push comes as Jamaica experiences a downturn in tourism arrivals, with visitor numbers at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay falling 11.5 per cent in September to 287,000, according to Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico release published in October. Contributing factors include concerns surrounding the US general elections, Hurricane Beryl in July, and a US State Department travel advisory citing healthcare and crime concerns.
Despite the recent slowdown, Jamaica's tourism sector recorded a strong recovery post-pandemic, earning a record US$4.2 billion in 2023 while welcoming four million visitors.
Sandals, founded in 1981 by the late Gordon "Butch" Stewart, began with two abandoned hotels in Montego Bay and has since grown into a regional hospitality giant with 17 properties. The company is currently led by executive chairman Adam Stewart.
