Jamaican motorsport star Sara Misir will join Team Blue Rising for Season 2 of the E1 Series, the world’s first all-electric race boat championship.
Team Blue Rising, co-owned by Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli and sports-tech entrepreneur Adi K Mishra, is part of a lineup of celebrity-backed teams, including those owned by Will Smith, Tom Brady, Didier Drogba, and Rafael Nadal.
The series opens on January 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, featuring high-speed "RaceBirds," cutting-edge electric boats competing in an eco-focused format.
Misir will partner with U.S. watersport veteran John Peeters, who holds over 65 world records and 19 championships. Together, they aim to deliver top-tier performances for Team Blue Rising.
“Joining Team Blue Rising is an incredible opportunity to represent Jamaica in a championship that combines innovation and elite performance,” said Misir, a four-time Jamaican Motorsport Athlete of the Year. “ I’m honoured to be part of the team and look forward to this new challenge. It's another avenue to conquer, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Misir has achieved milestones across sports. After excelling as a junior equestrian champion, she transitioned to motorsports, earning a top 10 finish at the 2018 Florida Winter Tour. She competed in the UK’s GT Cup Championships in 2022 and 2023 and became the first female MP4 Class champion in the JRDC series at Dover Raceway.
The 2025 E1 Series spans seven races, concluding in Miami on November 7-8.
