Three-vehicle Crash Scene Near Runaway Bay, St Ann

Several persons, including hotel workers, were injured in a three-vehicle bang-up along the Salem main road in Runaway Bay, St Ann on Thursday.

There has been no fatality so far, but police say approximately 19 persons were receiving treatment at hospital for various injuries.

Preliminary reports are that shortly before 3pm, a Toyota Probox motorcar and a Toyota Coaster bus transporting hotel workers were travelling westerly on the roadway.

At a certain point, the driver of the Probox reportedly made a right turn and collided with an ambulance that was travelling in an easterly direction.

The ambulance, which reportedly had no patient on board, then collided into the Coaster bus, leaving the emergency vehicle, especially, badly damaged.

Passers-by assisted the injured persons to hospital.

The crash caused a pile-up of traffic in the area.
