Scores of fans braved the weather to experience Boyz II Men, whose soulful music has captivated hearts and mended relationships for nearly 40 years.

Just an hour before the concert, rain cleared, setting the stage for an unforgettable night at the University of the West Indies, Mona, on Saturday, October 26, 2024.

Our entertainment reporter spoke with attendees before and after the concert, including dancehall artiste Beenie Man, who shared their expectations and reactions to the night’s performances.

Beenie Man: "The event is a beautiful thing—it’s about love and unity. I’m here with my woman, and I’m looking forward to a beautiful performance."

Cherton Dacosta: "I can’t wait to see Boyz II Men! I came all the way from St Catherine. Even though I had an event in St. Mary where it was pouring, I didn’t go home to change—I came straight here!"

Keith: "I’m really looking forward to the main event. Everything I’ve seen so far has been great."

After the show

Claudette (mother of musical artist and broadcaster Press Kay): "I loved it. We got here just as Boyz II Men were about to go on stage, and it was wonderful."

Moya from Kingston: "I was a little disappointed because they didn’t perform ‘I’m Doing Just Fine,’ which is my favorite song, but everything else was good. I was one of the first to arrive at the venue."

Desperado: "The show was amazing. I look forward to more events like this in Jamaica. It was a pleasure to be here."

Gillian: "The show was nostalgic—it took me way back. I had an amazing time."

Sheena Rose from Spanish Town: "The best part was Boyz II Men’s sexy moves!"

Tassia: "I enjoyed all the performances because this show was different from the usual dancehall parties. I’m a ‘souls’ music girl. I may be young, but this is my thing."

Mina Karle from Spanish Town: "I loved it. The intimacy of the event, with just three acts, was perfect. I saw Boyz II Men about 15 years ago in Port Royal. They have a song for every occasion."
