Dancehall icons Vybz Kartel and Spice lit up the stage at the Freedom Street concert in Kingston’s National Stadium, delivering a high-energy, raunchy, and unforgettable performance to ring in the New Year.

As the clock approached midnight, the dynamic duo brought a patriotic touch to the celebration, leading the crowd in a rendition of Jamaica’s national anthem. However, just moments before, Kartel and Spice had the audience roaring as they turned up the heat with their electrifying chemistry.

Spice followed Vybz Kartel on stage around five minutes before the New Year dressed in a bodice, and short shorts topped off with a light coat and a crown in the blue bandana print. Although Kartel was at the time wearing a striped, three-piece suit complete with white shirt and an orange necktie the two did not look at odds as they went into a raunchy set “Conjugal Visit”.

The crowd reached a fever pitch when Spice performed her anthem So Mi Like It, circling the stage before unleashing her signature dance moves.

With two minutes left before midnight, Spice took the energy to another level with an unexpected remix on the Comet Riddim. The track paid homage to Kartel’s enduring dominance in dancehall while throwing shade at rival deejay Alkaline.

“Kartel fresh outta prison and make more money than nuff artiste weh deh a road. How yuh fi compare Alkaline to Kartel? Him a di student to di World Boss teacher,” Spice declared, earning cheers from the audience.
