Anticipation is mounting for The Intimate Concert featuring reggae icons Buju Banton and Beres Hammond at Plantation Cove on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
The St Ann Police Division is urging patrons to brace for traffic congestion and enhanced security measures, with Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell advising attendees to plan their journeys carefully. The event is expected to attract a massive crowd, leading to significant traffic increases on major roadways in the parish.
"We anticipate substantial support for this event, which will likely result in excessive traffic and delays on roadways in the division," Powell stated. "We are asking patrons to factor in additional time for their travel arrangements to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience."
The police have confirmed that strategic deployments will be in place to manage traffic flow and address any security concerns. Patrons are encouraged to follow all instructions from law enforcement officers on the ground and to exercise patience and cooperation.
Powell also called on the public to prioritise safety and order. "The success of this event requires the full cooperation of attendees. Together, we can ensure a secure and enjoyable environment for everyone."
The Intimate Concert promises to be a memorable evening as two of reggae’s most iconic figures take the stage. With fans travelling from across the island and beyond, attendees are reminded to arrive early, park only in designated areas, and refrain from any activities that could disrupt the event or endanger others
