Recognised as the King of Reggae and Dancehall in Africa, Ghanian Afropop, Afrodancehall and reggae musician Stonebwoy, is gearing up to bring his firebrand energy to the Dream Wknd stage this summer. He is scheduled to perform at Igloo on August 5.
Dream Wknd runs from Friday, August 1 to Tuesday, August 5.
Stonebwoy, a multi-award-winning performer and philanthropist, says he enjoys performing for his Jamaican fanbase.
“The average Jamaica attendee understands craft, art and delivery and once an artiste possesses that they appreciate and respect his art. No wonder when I first performed at Reggae Sumfest, I was ranked among the Top 10. I’m always happy to perform in Jamaica also as a trailblazer and a core figure in keeping and bridging the African and Caribbean sounds,” said Stonebwoy in a media release.
He shared what patrons can expect when he performs at Igloo.
“It will be a lot of fun for the attendees and mind-blowing performance brought forth.
What Stonebwoy represents is larger than just being a great artiste but a pillar of unity of black people and people of colour, their ancestry, history, music and great vibes,” said the BET Award and Ghana Music Award-winning artiste.
Stonebwoy’s list of hit songs include "Life and Money", "African System", "One Gad", "Most Original" and "Everlasting".
He has recorded more than 50 collaborations with Jamaican artistes through the years. Some of his collaborators include Sean Paul, BeenieMan, Shaggy, Sizzla, Dexta Daps, Kranium, Kabaka Pyramid, Agent Sasco and Spice.
Stonebwoy joins a lineup of acts for Dream Wknd, which includes previously announced performers Agent Sasco (Yush – August 2), Jah Vinci (World Vibes- August 3) and Likkle Addi (Wet N Wild – August 3).
