The support of corporate partners during the post hurricane Melissa recovery phase is being hailed by the government as central to rebuilding stronger and more resilient communities

The Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce has noted the contribution of the private sector to national recovery, especially during the yuletide season.

State Minister Delano Seiveright acknowledged the scale and consistency of support from businesses large and small, from donations and relief supplies, to logistics and solutions-oriented activities.

Seiveright emphasized that while significant ground has been covered, recovery remains ongoing, and sustained collaboration between government, the private sector and communities will be essential going into the new year.

He added that the ministry has continued to work closely with private-sector partners to support business recovery, from large firms maintaining employment, operations and supply chains, to micro and small enterprises seeking to reopen and stabilize.

Seiveright also noted that the return of electricity has been a major enabler of business reopening, supply chain normalization and community stability, particularly in heavily affected parishes.
