Taxi operators stage protest in downtown Kingston over road and sewage problems
Taxi operators who ply their trade along Spanish Town Road route staged a protest and withdrew their services in frustration over the deplorable conditions at the intersection of Spanish Town Road and Industrial Terrace in Kingston.
The operators on Tuesday gathered in front of the Denham Town Police Station, calling on the authorities to urgently address the poor road conditions and the issue of running sewage water in the area.
According to the protesters, large potholes and sewage overflow have made the intersection nearly impassable, causing frequent damage to their vehicles and posing significant health and safety risks.
