Teenaged male killed in motor vehicle collision in St. James is first road fatality for 2026

A young man was killed in a two-vehicle collision in St. James yesterday.
The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old student, Geovaughny Bailey.
Police reports indicate that about 5:12 P.M., a white Toyota corolla motor car was being driven along the Childermas Main Road with Bailey aboard as a passenger when it reportedly collided with another Toyota Corolla.
Following the collision, the police were alerted and the occupants of the 2 vehicles were taken to hospital.
Bailey later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at hospital.
This incident marks the first road fatality since the start of the new year.
