Two major hotel developments are set to break ground in St Ann, promising to significantly boost Jamaica’s tourism sector and create thousands of jobs.

The projects— a rebranded Royalton CHIC Jamaica Paradise Cove in Runaway Bay and a new Secrets Resorts and Spa in Richmond—will enhance the parish’s reputation as a premier hospitality destination while driving economic growth.

Senior strategist in the Ministry of Tourism, Senator Delano Seiveright, welcomed two significant hotel developments, noting that the first project involves a complete transformation of Jewel Paradise Cove in Runaway Bay, following its acquisition by Germany’s TUI Global Hospitality Fund.

The property will be rebranded as Royalton CHIC Jamaica Paradise Cove, an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort catering exclusively to adults. The redesigned luxury resort is set to open in late 2026.

Simultaneously, plans are advancing for a second major development — a 715-room Secrets Resorts & Spa in Richmond, St Ann. Backed by Spain’s Luque family, this luxury property will feature newly unveiled overwater suites and is expected to employ approximately 1,600 people once operational.

Beyond direct employment, both projects are expected to generate thousands of additional jobs across construction, hospitality services, and other related sectors.

Senator Seiveright emphasised the government’s commitment to fostering investments that drive economic growth and improve opportunities for Jamaicans.

“These developments are a testament to the strength and resilience of our tourism sector and the confidence that international investors have in Jamaica’s potential,” Seiveright stated.

The new Royalton CHIC Jamaica Paradise Cove will feature 345 elegantly designed suites, including Diamond Club™ accommodations with personalised butler services and exclusive amenities. Guests can indulge in four upscale dining venues and an international buffet, along with swim-out rooms and beachfront pools designed for sophisticated social experiences.
