Two men were shot and killed at a bar in Land Settlement, Manchester, yesterday.
Dead are 21-year-old Damien Edwards, otherwise called “Damie,” a resident of Melrose Gardens, and 30-year-old Yakieni Shaw, otherwise called “Yankee,” a farmer of Comfort District both in the parish.
Police reports are that, about 3:50 p.m., the men were patrons at a bar when a motorcar drove up.
A gunman alighted from the vehicle and opened fire, hitting both men multiple times.
Lawmen were alerted, and upon their arrival, both men were seen lying in a pool of blood.
The men were taken to hospital, where Shaw was pronounced dead on arrival, while Edwards later succumbed while undergoing treatment.
Police have maintained a presence in the community, as the area remains tense.
