Two persons were shot and killed in Mandeville, Manchester last evening after an altercation between a taxi operator and a passenger, reportedly escalated.

Dead are 24-year-old Deneekia Pounall of Heartease District, and 21-year-old Sadefa Henry, a delivery man of Marvel Close, Greenvale, both in the parish.

Reports are that at about 7:30 pm, a taxi carrying Pounall and Henry stopped along the roadway to allow another passenger to disembark.

The driver requested his fare from the passenger, but that passenger refused and reportedly began intimidating the driver.

The driver drove away after reportedly hearing explosions.

Upon stopping at a safe distance, checks were made, and it was observed that Pounall and Henry were suffering from gunshot wounds.

The police were alerted, and the wounded persons were assisted to the hospital, where Pounall was pronounced dead on arrival.

Henry died this morning while being treated.
