
The scene of a reported deadly confrontation between the police and a gunman on Albion Lane in St James on Wednesday afternoon.
Two men who were suspected of having shot and injured two members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in St James on Tuesday night, were fatally shot in separate confrontations with the police on Wednesday afternoon.
The incidents occurred in two different communities within the parish.
The identities of the deceased men have not yet been released.
The police have reportedly recovered two illegal firearms during the operations that were carried out in Salt Spring and Albion Lane.
The Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM) has commenced probes into the two incidents.
According to reports from the Constabulary Communications Network (CCN), members of the St James Beat Officer Patrol Division (BOPD) intercepted the armed men during the incident, resulting in a shootout with the hoodlums who were armed with a high-powered weapon and a handgun.
The police said two officers were shot and injured, but are said to be in stable conditions.
